Dawn and Graham Howells, with the help of their family and friends, recently held a coffee morning at the Begelly Arms Hotel for Macmillan?Cancer Support.
The coffee morning was held on?Saturday, October 20, and raised the fantastic sum of £4,310.10 for Macmillan, beating last year’s amazing total of £3,578.97. The organisation has offered support to Dawn and her family since she was diagnosed with incurable cancer in March 2015, and as a result Dawn wanted to give something back.
The support from the local community was absolutely amazing once again. They would like to thank everyone who helped on the day, made cakes, donated and attended, making it a very special and successful occasion.
Special thanks to our amazing family and friends who help on the day, Natalie and Shane Webster, Gwenda and Bryan Mason, Veronica and Danny Howells, Jan and Richard Roberts, Mary and Roger Sheldon, Angie Jones, Gill Cope, Karen and Andy?Webster, Karen and Paul Morgan, Wendy Devonald, Denise Williams and their granddaughter Ruby?Webster who was in charge of the lucky dip.
Everyone gave up their time to run the many stalls, which included cake stall, bric-a-brac, tombola, plant stall, buy a name, lucky dip, guess the weight of the cake and our fantastic raffle with prizes donated by local individuals and businesses, for which we are very grateful.?We thank everyone for their kindness, generosity and continued suppport.
As well as all the stalls, the many people who attended on the day were offered tea/coffee, sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes and biscuits for lunch, making it a very social event.
Our final massive thank you goes to Peter and Jackie Adams and the staff at the Begelly Arms for allowing us to use their function room to host our event, for supplying all the tea and coffee and for making sandwiches; their continued help and support is amazing and we are forever grateful.
This was our seventh fundraiser since Dawn was diagnosed and brings our overall total raised now for charities to over £14,260.
Once again, thanks to everyone for your support, it has been overwhelming, and we look forward to next year.
