A large festive crowd enjoyed the Family BBQ at Manorbier Castle organised by the Rotary Club of Pembroke on Friday, July 25. A crowd in excess of 300 enjoyed the barbeque, with tea and cakes being provided by Pembroke Inner Wheel. There was a delightful entertainment programme which included performance by the Seren Irish Dancers, medieval combat re-enacted by the Knights Templar, sea shanties and ballads sung by the Vagrants Crew and medieval music performed by La Volta. It was a perfect climax to a day in the Pembrokeshire sunshine. The event raised £1,200, which will be shared between MIND and Rotary charities. The Rotary Club would like to thank Dame Emily for the use of her magnificent castle and the castle staff for helping to make the event such a success. Jon Davies, president of the Rotary Club of Pembroke, said: "We are delighted to have hosted this event which so many enjoyed and will help many worthwhile causes in our community. A big thank you to the castle for making it all possible."
