A large festive crown enjoyed a family barbecue at Manorbier Castle organised by the Rotary Club of Pembroke.

A crowd of over 600 enjoyed an excellent barbecue, together with tea and cakes provided by Pembroke Inner Wheel.

The crown enjoyed a delightful entertainment programme. The fairy queen enchanted the children in the audience and this was followed by a charming dance programme by the Seren Irish Dancers. The Knights Templar gave a display of medieval combat, enjoyed by the dads as much as the children, followed by a programme of sea shanties and ballads sung by the Vagrants’ Crew. The evening was concluded by a programme of medieval music performed by La Volta.

The event raised over £2,000, which will be shared between the Peony Breast Care Unit at the Prince Phillip Hospital, Llanelli, and Rotary charities.

The Rotary Club would like to thank Dame Emily for the use of her magnificent castle and the castle staff for helping to make the event such a success.

Jon Davies, president of the Rotary Club of Pembroke said: “We are delighted to have hosted the medieval barbecue again this year. It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying themselves and supporting some worthwhile causes in our community. A big thank you to the castle for making it all possible.”
