Employees of the troubled boat-building firm Mustang Marine are being offered help and support to find new jobs.

Pembrokeshire County Councils Futureworks and Workways teams have organised a special event next week for 66 members of the Pembroke Dock company's workforce who have been made redundant.

In attendance at the town's Bridge Innovation Centre on Thursday, will be: Jobcentre Plus; Careers Wales (ReAct); Workways; Want to Work; Futureworks; PBI and Business Wales; Pembrokeshire College; GO Wales.

Council leader, Clr. Jamie Adams, said: "The majority of the workforce were issued with their redundancies and told not to return to work.

"As a result they didn't have the benefit of meeting with professionals who can aid and support them in seeking further employment and exploring what funding is available to them.

"In response to this we have spoken to Mustang Marine and they agreed to the Pembrokeshire Employer Support Group organising an information event at the Bridge Innovation Centre.

"This will involve all providers who can help recently redundant and unemployed people with support."

"Mustang Marine is sending invites out to all the staff made redundant to ensure they are getting the support they need," he added.

The event runs from 10 am to 12 noon.
