Parents and guardians of children and young people are being asked to check their child’s vaccination records this summer.

Catch up drop-in clinics will take place across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire this summer for all childhood vaccinations.

Bethan Lewis, Interim Assistant Director of Public Health for Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “Immunisation is important for children because it helps provide immunity before exposure to potentially life-threatening diseases.

“Immunisation has helped rid the world of some very serious debilitating diseases. Smallpox, for example, has now been eradicated thanks to vaccines.

“It is important that all children have easy access to their scheduled vaccines and so we are pleased to offer these drop-in sessions.”

A parent or guardian able to provide consent must attend with the child/children.

Appointments and drop-in sessions for children aged 5 to 17 years of age will be held in the following locations:

  • Tuesday 25 July 11am - 1pm (Drop in only) at 'The Table', Merlins Walk, Carmarthen (next to Poundland)
  • Tuesday 8 August 12 noon - 6pm at Neyland Hub, Neyland vaccination centre, Unit 1 Honeyborough Retail Park, Neyland, Pembrokeshire, SA73 1SE
