ARGYLE Surgery in Pembroke Dock has announced an update to the way patients can request appointments and other healthcare-related items, that avoids the “8am rush” that has become a problem for many.
Argyle Medical Group have introduced a new triage system called Anima, completely replacing the system they had in place previously. Anima seamlessly and confidentially integrates with patients’ medical records bringing improvements to how they request appointments and how staff assess their condition.
As of June 10, 2026, Anima will allow the team to continue to improve access times, directing patients to the most appropriate care for your medical needs. This ensures the surgery can make use of its limited resources in the most safe and efficient way. All appointments will continue to be offered according to clinical urgency and need.
By using this triage system, it means that patients will be managed more equitably and effectively, connecting patients efficiently to the right person for the right service.
Patients who don’t have access to the internet, or struggle using it, or those who have a language barrier, mental health crisis, disability or are neurodivergent, can still call the surgery on 01646 624198 where one of the Reception team will be able to assist you.
Anima will be available for submitting health concerns Monday to Friday, 8am-5.30pm. However, patients may find Anima “closed” if the number of submissions exceeds the cap put in place to ensure the workload can be managed safely.
The surgery advises: “If your health concern is urgent, please consider using the NHS 111 service, or in an emergency dial 999 or attend A&E. Anima will remain available for administrative requests such as prescriptions, requesting sick notes etc. until 6.30pm on normal working days. Anima will not be available on bank holidays or when the surgery is closed.”
