Simon Thomas met five-year-old Elly Neville, a pupil at Pembroke Dock Community School. She is raising funds for a revamp of facilities at Ward 10, Withybush Hospital.

Elly, the daughter of Lyn and Ann Neville, of Pembroke, recently won first prize in a competition at school by making a collage of the Pembrokeshire Flag.

She is using the collage for a fundraising campaign for Ward 10.

Party of Wales AM Simon Thomas said: “I was delighted to meet Elly and her mother together with Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood when we held a public meeting in Tenby. There is so much concern and uncertainty around services at Withybush that Elly’s fundraising and her family’s optimism shine through. It’s fantastic that the appeal has received wide support from Pembrokeshire and beyond and that the Health Board have committed to using the money raised for Ward 10.”
