A NEW Pembrokeshire-based theatre group is bringing ‘Happy Days, A New Musical’ to West Wales, with auditions to be a part of it taking place in February!
DO Theatre Productions has been set up with the aim of putting on amateur theatre productions across West Wales and helping individuals to grow, learn, improve and enjoy by being part of that process. Their first production, due to hit the stage at the end of June, will be ‘Happy Days, A New Musical’, a show based on the hit Paramount Pictures television series.
DO Theatre producer Ollie Cole, formerly a presenter at Radio Pembrokeshire, said he can’t wait to get going with the production.
“It’s a really exciting, punchy and family friendly show, and we’ve managed to pull together an excellent creative team to help put it on. It’s got amazing music from Oscar-winner Paul Williams, a book by the TV series’ original creator Garry Marshall, and is sure to have Pembrokeshire rockin’ and rollin’!”
The team are now going to be looking for people to get involved in the show, with auditions being held in February, plus an appeal for volunteers to take on backstage, off-stage and front of house roles.
“The best bits of setting up this group and putting on this musical will be putting on display the vast array of talent I know there is in the county, and once again getting large audiences into the De Valence Pavilion in Tenby, which is a superb venue” Ollie said.
Auditions for ‘Happy Days, A New Musical’ will be held at the start of February, with full details now available at wedotheatre.co.uk.
