PEMRBOKESHIRE’S Vision Theatre Company has announced the cast for its highly anticipated spring 2026 production of Dear Evan Hansen.
This gripping and inspiring piece of musical theatre comes to the Boulevard Theatre in Milford Haven from March 19-21, 2026.
Leading the cast as the anxious yet hopeful Evan Hansen is Rhys Williams (The Great British Bake Off Musical, Come From Away, Elf).
Joining him are Tom Wears (Bake Off, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) as Connor, Kelly Jackson (Bake Off, Kiss Me Kate) as Heidi, Naomi Hicks (Hello Dolly, Evita) as Cynthia, Adam Edgerley (Hello Dolly, Men at Arms) as Larry, Ruby Panesar (Legally Blonde, SIX) as Zoe, and Holly Forster (SIX) as Alana.
Making his Vision Theatre Company debut is Kaveh Singh as Jared, completing an exceptional ensemble of local and returning talent.
The production is directed by Drew Baker, whose recent credits include Come From Away and The Great British Bake Off Musical — both met with outstanding acclaim for their creativity, heart, and storytelling.
With its award-winning score, gripping narrative, and raw emotional power, Dear Evan Hansen promises to be one of Vision Theatre Company’s most heartfelt and unforgettable productions yet.
The winner of six Tony Awards, the Grammy Award and the Olivier Award for Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen is the deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical about life and the way we live it. The musical has struck a remarkable chord with audiences and critics everywhere. The New York Times calls it “a breathtaking knockout of a musical.” And “NBC Nightly News” declares it “an anthem resonating on Broadway and beyond.”
Dear Evan Hansen, which features a book by Steven Levenson - with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman) - centres on a socially anxious high school senior who fabricates a friendship with a deceased classmate to gain a sense of belonging.
The deception works, and his lie quickly grows into a movement that brings him unexpected popularity, love, and belonging. As the truth unravels, Evan must face the consequences of his choices and confront what it truly means to be seen, accepted, and honest about who you are.
A film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen was released back in 2021, starring Ben Platt, but to unenthusiastic reviews, scoring a meagre 28 on Rotten Tomatoes. However, according to Phil Turner, writing earlier this year in Exposed, “it just works so much better live.
“The whole thing feels sharper, funnier, more human… you actually ‘get’ Evan as a character, and the story hangs together much more naturally. Turns out it really is a musical at heart.”
“Dear Evan Hansen is one of the most important and moving pieces of modern musical theatre,” says Director Drew Baker. “It tackles themes of loneliness, mental health, and human connection in a way that feels incredibly real and relevant today. This production is about finding light in the darkest places.”
Tickets are available at boulevard-theatre.com and early booking is strongly advised.
