There’ll be plenty of mischief, music and surprises as the wonderful Twirlywoos Live set sail in their big red boat and head for Pembrokeshire’s Torch Theatre for not one, but two performances on Sunday, May 7.

The four small bird-like characters, who are inquisitive and enthusiastic - Great BigHoo, Toodloo, Chickedy and Chick can’t wait to take you, their friends on a journey as they discover the wonderful world around us!

The funny, loveable Twirlywoos are brought to life on stage with beautifully inventive puppetry promising an hour of colourful fun and laughter for those age one and up. From the producers of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, Twirlywoos Live is an enchanting introduction to theatre for all ages.

The show has been developed with a commitment to watching how children interact and develop, and each episode creates spaces for pre-schoolers to make their own connections, which aids their learning.

“Twirlywoos recognises children’s rich capacity to learn and to know at a young age and so the content builds on what we know about how children approach learning in (and about) the world. Key characteristics include: curiosity, persistent patterns of thought and the importance of movement, (the Twirlywoos are constantly on the move – or moving objects – as are young children.),” explained Education Advisor Professor Cathy Nutbrown as she discussed the production.

Professor Nutbrown added: “We know that children learn through humour and that when children find things funny they are in a position of understanding, so the fun in Twirlywoos is important.”

Described as ‘a laugh-out-loud adventure, lapped up by little ones, great family fun,’ by Opening Night and as ‘a wondering array of bright colours, music, bubbles, singing and costumes.

An enchanting show for young audiences’ by West End Wilma, all members of the family are going to love this production.

Twirlywoos Live will visit the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven on May 7 at 2 pm and 4 pm.
