After several long years absence, Summerhill Film Night returns at Amroth Parish Hall with the 2022 film, “Elvis” on Friday, September 30.
The story follows the life of Elvis Presley, (Austin Butler) seen through the eyes of his controversial manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks).
It explores Elvis’s highs and lows and the many challenges and controversies he faced throughout his career. A musical drama directed by and co-written by Baz Luhrmann, it co-stars Olivia DeJonge, (Priscilla Presley) Helen Thomson and Richard Roxburgh.
Thanks to support from Pembrokeshire County Council’s Enhancing Pembrokeshire Grant scheme, funding has been provided for the refurbishment of the audiovisual equipment at the Hall including a new panoramic screen, HD projector and Blu-ray player. The grant will also fund community cinema screenings at the Hall over the next year, with Summerhill Film Night initially planning to show one film each month.
