Thirty-seven Steps2Health members headed for St Davids by coach.
It was far from ideal weather on Saturday, March 11 for an out-of-area walk, being very windy and also wet at times. The leaders deemed it too windy to venture onto the Coast Path, so they followed the inland route to St Non’s. Barbara supported by Chris, led the Speedies along the path through the fields. This turned out to be pretty muddy, after the overnight heavy rain. The Steadies, led by Kym and backed by Donna, followed along behind. In turn the groups visited St Non’s chapel and well. The chapel provided very welcome respite from the rain and wind. Both groups returned via the lane to Britain’s smallest city. The Speedies took a deter to the cathedral ,where they were disappointed to find the refectory closed. Despite the pubs being very busy, with Six Nations matches being shown, everyone found refreshments in cafes and hotels. Despite the weather, everyone really enjoyed the first out of area walk of the year.
The Nordic Walk planned for March 16 was cancelled on the day because of the heavy rain and deep mud.
On Saturday, March 25, there will be a choice of walks from New Hedges to Saundersfoot. Please catch the 381 bus from Tenby at 9:45 (9:48 from Kilgetty, 10am from Saundersfoot).
