The Sunday jazz sessions at the Clarence House Hotel in Tenby continue to be full of surprises.
Tenby Jazz’s latest Sunday lunch session on Sunday, July 20 featured the cultured sounds of the Dave Jones Quartet.
Chris Osborne said:
“With Andy Hague on drums, Ben Waghorn on sax and flute, Ashley John Long on double bass, Dave played his inimical piano around a backlist of his self-penned discography. These included Answers on a Postcard, Afro, The Power of Burgundy, Journey and finishing, appropriately, with Departure.
“Not the biggest of audiences was appreciative of the musicianship on display, especially from Andy Hague despite a broken arm, falling off a ladder four weeks previously!”
After a summer break, the next session will see a return on Sunday, September 28 of the Dick Hamer Quartet featuring the lustrous vocals of Jenny Jones. And on October 19, the Groucho Club will present their all-engaging horns-driven jazz.
