A FORMER Level 3 Enhanced Mechanical Engineering at Pembrokeshire College and later tutor of Level 2 learners in the workshop is currently pursuing Motorsport Engineering at Oxford Brookes University.
Reuben Whitehead recently returned to Pembrokeshire College to share his journey with learners. As an integral member of the Oxford Brookes Racing Formula Student Team, he contributes to both the car build and test department as well as the statics department.
His hard work and talent led to his selection to represent the team at two prominent international competitions: Formula Student UK (FSUK) held at Silverstone, and Formula Student Czech Republic (FSCzech) at Autodrom Most. Alongside his technical responsibilities, Reuben also showcased his driving skills by competing in the endurance events at both competitions. His efforts helped the team secure a remarkable 3rd place overall at FSUK, earning the distinction of the best UK team, and a strong 15th place out of 68 teams at FSCzech.
Reflecting on his experience, Reuben said, “It was fantastic to return to the College to share my journey, from my time as a student and tutor to my current work at university, with future learners and engineers. Thank you for having me!”
Reuben’s visit highlights the College’s ongoing commitment to inspiring and supporting the next generation of engineers through real-world success stories and mentorship.
