The work of an entertainments venue committee has been praised at a meeting of the town council this week.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of Tenby Town Council, Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, said that the committee at the De Valence Pavilion should be ‘commended and congratulated’ for the work they have done in enhancing the venue in Upper Frog Street.
“The refurb work has made such a difference to the hall, and I would invite anyone considering their wedding reception or holding a major function, to please come along to have a look at the venue,” she said.
Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown, who is on the committee, told her colleagues that all of the work by the outside contractors was now complete, and that it was now left to the committee to complete ‘tidying up’ duties.
“Our first event since the refurb will be a transition concert for Greenhill School on April 6, where we’re hoping to welcome 400 people,” she told her fellow councillors.
“Also during April, a junior boxing club will start, with a view to adults joining later, which will run twice a week throughout the year. In the pipeline, we will also have a market every Wednesday, from 10 am to 2 pm, and we have already taken two wedding bookings for 2018, so all in all, we’re doing really well,” added Clr. Mrs. Brown.
