A MILFORD Haven parent has been ordered to pay the court £1,324 after failing to send her three school-registered children to school.
The 38-year-old mother’s case came before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on July 24 and was proved in her absence.
Between November 4, 2024 and April 11, 2025, she had failed to ensure that her three children attended school regularly. For a parent of compulsory school age children who have been registered at a school, this is an offence contrary to section 444 (1) and (8) of the Education Act 1996.
The mother was fined £660, and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £264, in addition to costs of £400 - a total of £1,324.
