A Leicestershire couple who have been married for 20 years are thrilled to be renewing their vows on Tenby’s iconic fortress island next Wednesday, after a two-year delay.

Charlotte and Christopher Williamson, of Melton Mowbray are looking forward to renewing their vows on the roof of St Catherine’s Fort on Wednesday, August 10.

“We are so excited to be doing this in Tenby, let alone St Catherine’s Island and Fort,” said Charlotte. “We contacted the island after finding their website and spoke to a lovely guy who said yes!”

The couple have been married for 20 years and together for 24, and have two children, Tom (17) and Porscha (12). Christopher suffers from polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and both of the children have special needs but they love the outdoors and the whole family is looking forward to their Tenby holiday. They will be staying at the Coach Guest House in Deer Park, Tenby, and they definitely plan to visit animal attractions like Folly Farm and Manor House Wildlife Park, especially as Tom has a liking for sloths.

After the ceremony, which will be conducted by Tenby Rector Rev’d Canon Andrew Grace, Mr and Mrs Willimston will be holding a tea party at the Baytree in Tenby’s Tudor Square.

Such a special occasion requires lots of arrangements and, as they sort out suits and dresses, Christopher and Charlotte are so thankful to everyone who has rallied round to help, both in Leicestershire and in Pembrokeshire. These include cake-makers Sugar Shamrocks (Melton Mowbray); flower arranger Trish Hughes (Melton Mowbray); photographers from Milford Haven and hair stylist Beautified by Rebecca Clara (Tenby).

Joycelyn and Mike at the Coach Guest House said:

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Williamson on 20 years of marriage and we hope the sun shines for you.”
