TENBY Golf Club is proud to have raised a phenomenal £8,360.68 for The Paul Sartori Foundation, the club’s Charity of the Year as chosen by Captain Heather Morgan.
Heather’s captaincy is particularly significant as she is only the second female Golf Club Captain since the club was founded in 1888. Her decision to support The Paul Sartori Foundation follows the care and compassion the charity provided while her mother was nearing the end of her life.
Heather’s mother, who lived to 97, was able to remain at home as she wished, thanks to the support of Paul Sartori’s clinical team. Heather has often said that she could not have managed without the wonderful clinical staff who supported both her mother and her family during that time. Because of this experience, Heather wanted her captaincy not only to raise vital funds, but also to raise awareness of the charity and the services it provides across Pembrokeshire.
Heather’s fundraising year was packed with creative and well-supported events, including a charity golf day, Captain’s Day, and a night golf event, which proved to be hugely popular and great fun for everyone involved. Additional events included quiz nights with themed food, a special evening of song performed by Tenby Male Voice Choir, as well as an Easter raffle and a Christmas raffle. Each event was enthusiastically supported by members and guests.
The Paul Sartori Foundation’s Fundraising and Events team has been astonished by the generosity of the golfers throughout the year. “We have been invited to support events at Tenby Golf Club,” said Joanne Lutwyche, “and they have been great fun to be part of.”
The funds raised will help support hospice at home care for people living with life-limiting illness, enabling more families to receive care and comfort where it matters most.
