AS there was no speaker this month Summerhill WI hosted a delightful social evening at Amroth Parish Hall, featuring crafts and a talk on Sri Lanka.
Following a warm welcome from President Marlene, birthday greetings were given to Sue H and thanks to Hilary for lovely daffodils and ladies for the food bank donations.
The open day in January had gone well with a lovely display of crafts from members.
Upcoming events were discussed, including the cawl lunch organised by Stepaside Chapel. This will take place in Amroth Parish Hall on Saturday, February 28 at 12.30pm. Tickets (£7 per person) are available from Marlene on 01834 813551 with limited entry at the door.
Following the financial statement, the Federation Letter was discussed before refreshments were served by Wendy, Hilary and Sue H.
As the social evening got underway, Anne D gave a potted talk on her recent trip to Sri Lanka to visit her son and see some of the sights whilst there. The ladies from the craft groups used the time to arrange the layout of their County Round entry. Ann P was the lucky winner of the raffle.
The next meeting will be on Monday, March 9, 7pm at Amroth Parish Hall, Summerhill when there will be an egg decorating evening with Julie Evans, hostesses to be Linnia, Margaret L and Ann P.
