PAC Pembrokeshire (Parent Advocacy Café) is a new pilot project with a simple aim: to give parents a safe, welcoming space to talk, connect, and rebuild confidence without judgement.
It offers a protective environment where parents can share experiences, build relationships, and support each other to grow stronger and more resilient. The focus is on peer advocacy, so it is not about being told what to do, but about being listened to, understood, and supported by people who have been through similar situations.
This approach is already working well in Neath Port Talbot and Swansea, and is based on a wider model developed by Be Strong Families in the United States. PAC Pembrokeshire is bringing that same proven support into the local community.
While open to all parents, the cafés are particularly aimed at those who have had some involvement with social services, offering a space where trust can be rebuilt and confidence can develop over time.
Sessions will run once a month, creating consistent and reliable support for those who need it.
If you are a parent who has ever felt judged, overlooked, or left to figure things out on your own, this is a place where you will be welcomed.
Complimentary refreshments and lunch are provided.
Based at Picton Centre, 104 Freemans Way, Haverfordwest, the next Parent Café is planned for June 10, to be confirmed. Visit www.pancymru.com for details.
