“Such an unusual structure and such a beautiful place to visit.” Ruth Ashworth, a member of the ‘Picture This’ Tenby Observer photography club, visited the Tower House at Angle on Wednesday evening.

Built in the late 14th or early 15th century, the medieval Tower House at Angle on the Pembrokeshire coast near Pembroke is a miniature castle and a private home rolled into one. The three-storey defensive structure with thick walls and vaulted undercroft was originally entered at first-floor level via a drawbridge.

Although similar examples survive in Scotland and Ireland, Angle Tower House is the only remaining example of a pele tower in Wales. The house provided a good standard of accommodation for its day, with a fireplace and a garderobe on each floor.
