Fundraisers in Pembroke proved that they were 'kings of the castle' on St. David's Day, when they took part in a charity abseil.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Pembroke, Clr. Keith and Karen Nicholas, were among those who abseiled down the Great Tower at Pembroke Castle on Saturday, to raise funds for H.O.P.E in Neyland and also a 'cool cot' for Haverfordwest's Withybush Hospital.
"What an absolutely fantastic day we had and the weather held for us," said Mayor, Clr. Nicholas.
"We would like to thank Jon Williams and his wife Helena Williams of 'Coast 2 Crag' for their help and expertise in guiding all 19 of us crazy people who abseiled - they are really first class instructors; also to Pembroke Castle for allowing us the use of the Great Tower for the abseil."
As well as the Mayor and Mayoress and their son Arron, others who took part in the event included Deputy Mayoress Natalie Carey; town council clerk Suzie Thomas and assistant clerk Virginia Taber; Town Hall assistant caretaker Rose Howden, town councillors Clive Collins and Aden Brinn; Pembroke HSBC manager Stella Rowland and fellow staff members Lydia Thomas and Louise Davies; along with Martyn Nicholas, Marie Nicholas, Paul Rogers, Bob Jones, Sue Shanley, Jacqui Sharkey and Tim Sharkey.
"We will have hopefully raised around the £2,000 mark for H.O.P.E Neyland and a 'cool cot' for Withybush Hospital," continued Clr. Nicholas.
"We would like to thank the abseilers for their dedication in helping us raise the money for the charities and all those who were sponsors and supporters," he added.
