After a month of team bonding, store re-fitting and now daily lorry deliveries, the former Focus DIY store is preparing to open its doors as B&Q Pembroke Dock, in Bierspool.

In the last few weeks they've received nearly 15,000 products, built display kitchens and installed display bathroom suites to ensure the store opens with the best possible range of home improvement and garden products at the best prices.

B&Q's recent acquisition has created 35 new jobs, including 14 staff from the old Focus store.

B&Q is the UK's largest home improvement and garden centre retailer, offering a huge range of products to help make home improvement easier for customers to create their dream homes.

In the last month, the teams have been working together to ensure customers will receive expert advice from people with real experience and practical skills.

Store manager Bret Jones said: "The team, existing and new are excited about the store opening and serving the local community. We've had a few weeks to get to know each other and we're really looking forward to meeting all our new customers.

"The new team spans several generations from Stephanie Cole, who's 18, to our oldest, Steve Watts, who is 62-year-old and full of beans - they may be different in age, but they've got one thing in common - they're passionate about DIY and want to help make it easier for all our customers."

The store opens as B&Q on Saturday, October 8.
