The newly formed Kilgetty-Begelly Environment Group have organised their second event this weekend with a community litter pick on Sunday (January 19).

The event will focus on a big clean-up of the villages and surrounding area.

Starting at 11 am from Kilgetty Community Centre, the litter pick is supported by Keep Wales Tidy who will provide all the necessary equipment.

This will be followed by a free community lunch for those taking part.

The Environment Group has started on a number of projects which include creating wildlife habitat, tree planting schemes, obtaining ‘Bee Friendly’ status for the community, wildlife and diversity surveys etc.

If you would like to know more about these projects and how to get involved, why not come along on Sunday and have a chat.

Commenting, County Clr. David Pugh said: “If you are interested and concerned about improving the environment that we live in and about other issues affecting our quality of life, then please support this event.

“It will be a fantastic opportunity to make a difference now and for the future.

“I know the Cubs and Scouts are very much involved, but I hope that all residents will help by coming along either to take part in the litter pick or simply dropping in to see how to improve their environment,” he added.
