The new year is upon us, but while we are enjoying ourselves with family and friends, let us not forget the less fortunate. The sick, homeless and vulnerable children who are looking for love and kindness. To all those who have to work - hospital staff and essential workers who keep the country safe, to all the servicemen and women who are protecting us around the world, we send them all our thanks and best wishes.
2014 has been an exceptional and busy time in Pembroke Dock celebrating our 200th birthday. This time last year, it seemed a long and daunting task, but with the hard work from the bicentenary committee and the community, especially to the schools for their involvement, it has been an amazing time.
One of the highlights being a visit from The Queen in April, another was the Welsh Guards and the Royal Marines Bands parading through Town.
So much has happened to mention, but a big thank you to all who have helped to make this an outstanding year with long lasting memories.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy, peaceful, prosperous and healthy new year from myself, councillors and staff of Pembroke Dock Town Council.
