A man who tried to return to a Pembroke nightclub whilst in possession of a bayonet after an altercation that night will appear at Swansea Crown Court next month.

Twenty-one-year-old Samuel Howard Charles Thomas, of Bonvilston, Cardiff, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to plead guilty to a charge of being in possession of a knife blade of sharp pointed article in a public place.

Prosecutor Sian Vaughan told the court that Mr. Thomas had been involved in an ‘altercation’ outside a nightclub on Pembroke’s Main Street during the early hours of December 29.

“The parties went their separate ways, but Mr. Thomas returned to the locality with the knife. A doorman working at the club noticed the blade tucked down the defendant’s rear waist band,” she explained.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction of the case and the matter was transferred to Swansea Crown Court, with Mr. Thomas, who was released on unconditional bail, ordered to appear for a hearing on February 15.
