A Whitland woman with an extensive history of shoplifting has appeared in court again after stealing a box of assorted crisps and two table lamps.
Twenty-seven-year-old Lisa Sture, of Market Street, admitted the charge when she appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that on January 13, Miss Sture went into the B&M store in Pembroke Dock, with two empty bags and put the items in, with the theft being captured on CCTV.
“By the time that police went to speak to Miss Sture, the crisps had gone and the table lamps were not in a resaleable condition. The defendant has a long list of previous convictions, mainly for theft related offences,” he explained.
Defence solicitor Jonathan Webb told the court that his client was in breach of a conditional discharge imposed in September for a similar offence of shoplifting.
“Her offending has substantially slowed down over the last couple of years and she is trying her best to sort her life out and stop these juvenile offences,” he said.
Magistrates gave Miss Sture a community order with the defendant ordered to comply with the conditions of a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and to engage with the probation service. She was also ordered to pay £13.97 compensation to the B&M store and prosecution costs of £85.
