Police in Tenby are appealing for information after damage was caused to flowers at the town’s new cemetery.
“The new part of the cemetery has seen instances where flowers and the flower holders have been pulled up and thrown about,” said PCSO?Andrew Griffiths.
Any one with information is asked to contact PCSO Griffiths at Tenby police station on 101.
The clerk to Tenby town council who manage the new cemetery said that while the issue had not been brought to the council’s attention of Tenby Town Council, they are naturally concerned that such disrespectful behaviour is going on.
“Those that are carrying out these acts of vandalism may think it is a ‘bit of a lark’ or a victimless crime, but they must remember that floral tributes are laid by relatives to honour family members who have passed on,” remarked town clerk Andrew Davies.
“Relatives will quite rightly be upset to see these tributes treated with such irreverence.
“How would the perpetrators feel if someone treated their own loved ones in this way?
“We urge anyone who has witnessed such lack of respect to contact the police or ourselves,” he added.
