A Pembroke Dock teenager has been charged in court after admitting stealing make up and cosmetics from a store in the town.
Eighteen-year-old Alisha Callen, of Victoria Road, who is already in custody, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, via video link, to plead guilty to a charge of theft from B and M Bargains in Pembroke Dock.
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that on June 28, the store manager at B and M noticed whilst monitoring the CCTV system shortly after 4 pm, Miss Callen place several items in her shopping basket, before transferring them into her handbag, and then leave the store without paying.
The police attended and Miss Callen handed back £71.92 worth of make up and cosmetics before her arrest.
In a police interview the defendant said that she’d left her purse in a taxi, got annoyed and stole what she wanted from the store, admitting that it was a ‘stupid decision’.
Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told magistrates that Miss Callen made full and frank admissions, and that this was her first offence as an adult.
Magistrates gave the defendant a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered her to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
