Police have issued a plea to beach-goers this summer across the county to keep their belongings safe.

“During the summer holiday the beaches of Pembrokeshire can get very busy, and we would like you to enjoy your time here as much as possible, so here are a few tips to help you keep your belongings safe whilst on the beach,” said a spokesperson for the police authority.

• Do not leave your property unattended

• Always keep your belongings in a safe place where you can see them

• Lock valuables out of sight in the boot of the car if you are not taking them with you

• Always secure your car, locking all doors and closing windows before you leave

• Never ask strangers to look after your belongings on the beach whilst you go swimming

• Ensure zips are closed on bags, with mobile phones and purses safely inside

• Enjoy the sunshine!
