A single mum from Pembroke Dock charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place has been fined in court.
Thirty-nine-year-old Lisa Ann Stewart, of Munroe Court, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to plead guilty to the offence, and also a further charge of resisting arrest.
Prosecutor Sian Vaughan told the court that around 8.30 pm, on July 2, police officers heard the defendant being abusive on her mobile phone outside an address at Hawthorn Rise in Haverfordwest.
“She was screaming down the phone and when she terminated the call, Ms Stewart walked off and aimed verbal abuse at the officers,” she explained.
The court heard how Ms Stewart used foul language towards officers when telling them that she wanted to go and see her son, and that when they tried to arrest her, she resisted and scratched a female officer’s arm.
Defence solicitor Matthew Greenish told the court that his client had been out drinking with friends during the day and things had gone a bit ‘pear shaped’ after she had consumed too much alcohol.
Magistrates fined Ms Stewart £40 for each offence and ordered her to pay compensation of £50 to the injured officer.
She was also told to pay costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
