A Pembroke Dock man who used threatening and abusive behaviour at the scene of an emergency, was fined in court this week.

Forty-five-year-old James Frederick Leley Nicholas, of Laws Street, Pembroke Dock, pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor David Folland told the court that the incident occurred on March 4, when shortly before 3 pm, members of the Welsh Ambulance service and police responded to reports of a female self harming in Pembroke Dock.

“The female in question was placed safely in the back of an ambulance, and Mr. Nicholas went to try and see her, but was prevented from doing so by medical staff, and told to move away by police officers,” he explained.

“The defendant started swearing and shouting, and became obstructive. Members of the public were shocked and disgusted by his behaviour.

“Mr. Nicholas was repeatedly warned by the police about his behaviour and was eventually arrested,” continued Mr. Folland.

Magistrates fined the defendant £80 for the offence and ordered him to pay costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
