A Narberth teenager has been banned from driving for 12 months after pleading guilty to a drink-drive charge in court.
Nineteen-year-old Jack Adams, of Templeton, admitted the offence when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that at around 1 am on May 8, police officers on duty in an unmarked vehicle in Templeton had their attention drawn to the defendant’s blue Seat Arosa car as its wheels screeched whilst navigating a junction.
Following a roadside breath test, which proved positive, Mr. Adams was arrested and taken to Haverfordwest Police Station, where a further test showed that he had 40 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told the court that his client had consumed a drink at a nightclub and thought he was under the limit.
“I don’t have to explain how close to the limit he was from the reading you have been given,” he told magistrates.
Magistrates disqualified Mr. Adams from driving for 12 months and fined him £120 for the offence.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
