A man from Pembroke Dock had put his foot in it, a court heard this week, when he admitted to damaging a vehicle in the town by kicking it.
Twenty-year-old Marcus Aaron Llewellyn, of Corporation Terrace, pleaded guilty to a charge of damaging a motor vehicle, belonging to Patricia Boyle, when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Prosecutor, Mr. Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that the complainant had parked her people carrier on the street at 10 pm one night back in April, and when she returned to it the following morning, she noticed a number of dents in the vehicle and damage to the rear side door.
“There was blood left on the vehicle and police were able to take a sample of this and identify the defendant,” explained Mr. Pritchard-Jones.
“They also picked up a shoe print left on the vehicle and when they went to speak to Mr. Llewellyn, they seized similar style footwear from his home.
“When he was arrested, the defendant said that he had no idea of where he was on the night in question and no recollection of events. He didn’t deny the allegation, but also couldn’t admit it,” said Mr. Pritchard-Jones, explaining that in the region of £900 had been caused to the vehicle and that Mr. Llewellyn was already subject to a crown court suspended sentence.
The defendant’s solicitor, Mr. Mike Kelleher, told the court that his client, who was currently undertaking a marine technology course at Pembrokeshire College, had been given the suspended sentence for a completely dissimilar matter.
Magistrates fined Mr. Llewellyn £120 for the offence and ordered him to pay costs of £85, a £20 victim surcharge, a court charge of £150 and £857.11 compensation to the complainant.
