A homeless busker arrested in Kilgetty for being drunk and disorderly in a public place has been fined in court to the tune of £20.
Twenty-two-year-old Aaron James, who said he was of no fixed abode, when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court, on Tuesday, pleaded guilty to the charge.
Prosecutor Abdul Hussain told magistrates that police officers were called to the Carmarthen Road area of Kilgetty on October 1, at around 9.20 pm, after a report of a male being drunk and disorderly.
“When officers arrived Mr. James ran off shouting abuse and profanties and gesturing towards them, before climbing over a fence.
“He is in breach of a conditional discharge issued in Bristol for failing to leave an area,” he added.
Addressing the court, the defendant, who explained that he was homeless, and busked on the streets of Bristol, told magistrates that he couldn’t remember the incident as he had drunk too much that day, and that the next thing he knew, he was waking up in a police cell.
Mr. James added that he had gone to the Dyfed Drug and Alcohol service, to address his problems.
Magistrates fined him £20 for the offence, and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £50 and a £30 victim surcharge.
