Firefighters and police in Tenby attended Greenhill School on wednesday following reports that a pupil was on the roof.
The town’s firew crew who were called at the request of Dyfed-Powys Police arrived on the scene shortly after 2 pm, and left just before 4.30 pm, after the incident was resolved.
“On Wednesday at 2.11pm, firefighters from Tenby were mobilised to assist the Police at an incident in Heywood Lane, Tenby,” confirmed a spokeperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and rescue Service.
“No action was taken by the Fire Service and the crew left the scene at 2.28pm.”
Posting on the school’s Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon, headmaster Mr. Ray McGovern stated: “There was an incident at lunchtime today which required police and fire tender’s attendance.
“The incident has now been brought to an end. All pupils and staff are safe and lessons are continuing as normal.”
A police spokesperson said that officers had attended following a request from the school raising ‘concerns about the safety of a child’.
“The child is now safe and police have left the premises,” they added.
A spokeperson for Pembrokeshire County Council commented: “The Authority can confirm that police and the fire service attended Greenhill on Wednesday (February 6), following reports that a pupil was on the roof.
“The situation was resolved with no injury to the pupil.”
