A Pembroke Dock man pleaded guilty to cannabis possession when he appeared in court this week.

Twenty-nine-year-old David Lewis, of Meyrick Street, admitted possessing three grams of herbal cannabis when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that police executed a search warrant at Mr. Lewis’s address on April 23 and recovered the drugs from a coffee table in the front room.

“The defendant has four previous convictions for drugs offences, from quite recently, and is also currently serving a community order,” said Mr. Pritchard-Jones.

Defence solicitor Mark Layton told the court that this latest charge actually pre-dated all the other matters on record.

Magistrates fined Mr. Lewis £80 for the offence and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge. A forfeiture and destruction order for the drugs was also passed.
