A Pembroke man has been given a 12 month conditional discharge after being caught with cannabis when stopped in his vehicle.

Twenty-one-year-old Connor Ethan Roblin, of Southdown Close, pleaded guilty to possessing 0.5 grams of herbal cannabis when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that Mr. Roblin was pulled over in his vehicle in Pembroke Dock by police on December 10, and searched when officers could smell cannabis.

“He produced a small snap bag containing the drug. The defendant was cautioned back in 2017 for a similar offence,” he said.

Defence solicitor Stuart John told the court that his client had never been in court before, and the whole matter had taught him a lesson.

“He tells me that the whole process of appearing in court has been punishment in itself, and he has learnt significant lessons from this, and will no longer use cannabis recreationally as a result,” explained Mr. John.

Magistrates handed Mr. Roblin a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
