POLICE are investigating an incident which occurred in Llanelli on Sunday evening, February 22.

A report was received at 6.50pm that a man had assaulted a woman on Marble Hall Road. A passerby tried to intervene and was threatened.

Both man and woman left the scene.

A 46-year-old man was later arrested in Llys Alys, on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article, and currently remains in custody.

Local residents will see increased police activity while enquiries are ongoing.
