A bomb disposal unit attended a local beach on Wednesday afternoon to investigate possible ordnance which had been reported by a member of the public.
At low tide Tenby Coastguard rescue team along with HM Coastguard Llansteffan initially attended the scene on the beach near Monkstone to investigate and upon arrival coastguard rescue officers located the object and photographs were sent to the Royal Logistic Corp bomb disposal unit for further advice.
It was decided that the bomb disposal team would attend and whilst waiting for their arrival, coastguards maintained a cordon around the object.
When the bomb disposal team arrived, they examined the object and decided that it was safe to be removed from the beach.
The object will now be further analysed by the Royal Logistic Corp explosive ordnance division.
