The Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland is delighted that the facilities at the Llysyfran Country Park and Reservoir are to receive a major financial investment by Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, of over £4m, which will enhance the facilities previously enjoyed during The Welsh Dragon Boat Championships held during the past four years.
During this time, nearly £50K has been raised for local and national Welsh charities.
The co-ordinator of the championships, local architect Mr. Ken Morgan, is now contacting all of the previous entrants and sponsors to inform them of the exciting new developments at the Country Park which will be fully operational in the Spring of 2019.
During 2018, Welsh Water will be creating an interactive water play-zone, a water sports activity centre and cycle hub.
Permission has also been granted for a bike skills area, featuring mounds, banks, dips and gravel tracks along with camping and caravan pitches, enhanced parking and landscaping.
“We have been well supported by teams and sponsors during the past four years and we hope that this enforced break in the Championship during 2018 will give them time to recharge their batteries before recommencing in the Spring Bank Holiday at the end of May 2019,” said Mr. Morgan.
