Last weekend, TSC hosted its annual regatta, once again kindly sponsored by Lewis Lewis & Co Solicitors.
On Saturday there was one cruiser race and three dinghy races in the bay, with the wind being complemented by beautiful sunshine and high temperatures.
The winner of the three dinghy races was Oscar Chess from Tata Sailing club in his Osprey 1348.
On the Sunday, the wind was light and there was an increased level of cloud. The cruisers started at midway, followed by the dinghies 15 minutes later. The fleet made good progress through the Sound, but was becalmed as it passed St. Margaret’s.
After a wind shift and a spot of rain, the fleet was underway again, as as they rounded the lighthouse, an optimistic few hosited kites and broke away. Then it was just a relaxed fetch back to Tenby.
The winner was Jason Taylor in a Solo from Tata, while the team competition was was by Team Trout, who received £500, generously sponsored by Lewis Lewis & Co Solicitors.
Many thanks to all volunteers who made the weekend possible, both to shore based and on the water crew. Plus a special thanks to Jo Musson who organised the weekend and PRO Mark Dashfield and Alistair MacKay.
Club Sailing
Only Tuesday sailing took place this week due to the regatta; there was a force 3 breeze and warm sunshine for the race.
The race was three laps of a triangular course, the first beat seeing a close fought battle between Ted, Carwyn and Peter. But by the gybe mark, the wind had shifted 90 degrees and the run had become another upwind leg. By the end of the race, all three legs had been runs and beats, with the wind constantly shifting.
