Charlotte Evans from Penally secured the National Welsh Ladies Point to Point Jockey’s Championship when she won the Pembrokeshire Hunt Members race on McArther, owned and trained by David Rees from Clarbeston Road, at the final Welsh meeting of the season at Trecoed.

Charlotte has successfully ridden in Point to Point races and Hunter Chases, winning on tracks including Stratford on Avon, Chepstow, Ludlow and Ffos Las, as well as numerous Welsh Point to Point courses, since she first started race riding in 2010.

Now training herself as well as riding, Charlotte got this season off to a flying start winning the Ladies Open at the West Wales Club meeting at Lydstep on Highly Unlikley owned by The Four Seasons Partnership, which she trained herself.

She has been knocking on the door of the Welsh Championship for several years and said: “ I am delighted to have finally won the Welsh title this year and am grateful both to the owners who have sent me horses and outside trainers who have asked me to ride their horses for the faith they have shown in me.”
