Well you all certainly lived up to our name this weekend - ACE performances and as usual ACE supporting!

We had 73 members competing during the Long Course Weekend and lots of family members competing against each other (ha ha), confirming that all ages can have fun together.

Great to see Paula and Mike Smith taking part after their accident in December 2015. Paula took on the 66-mile cycle, with Mike ‘don’t you dare walk’ Smith completing the marathon. Also great to see John Badham completing the 45-mile cycle after his accident in May.

The atmosphere throughout the weekend was electric and the town was buzzing, and we would like to thank Activity Wales for another great event.

Velothon Wales, Cardiff: 140kms Colin Barrett 4hrs 40, Lee Horatio Walker 4hrs 7 and David Lewis 4hrs 18.

Wales 12-Hour Time Trial, Abergavenny: Shaun Griffiths rode total of 225 miles and daughter Rhianne Rose did 219 miles coming second lady (riding for Pembs Velos).

Full Long Course Weekend (Ironman distances over three days - 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and marathon): Fantastic achievement by all. Many congrats to Richard Gardiner winner of the marathon and second place overall - we had a great time celebrating his success!

Club ride, Tuesday, July 18, Route 13 (Castlemartin): Penally, Lydstep, Jameston, Lamphey, Pembroke, Monkton, Hundleton, Castlemartin, Merrion, St. Petrox, Pembroke, Lamphey, Jameston, Lydstep, Penally, Tenby. (approx 33 miles). Sweepers - James Shaw and Colin Barrett.

Thursday, July 20, Route 56 (Cosheston and Stackpole): Tenby, Gumfreston, main road then turn right at Milton Brewery into Milton and along Paskeston Lane to Cosheston. Across A477 turn left up Myletts Hill, right along Buttermilk Close, left at lights and down into Pembroke, right at East End rbt, left up St. Daniels Hill, left down dippers, turn left to Stackpole Church, left to Trewent and up Fresh East hill, turn left down to Lamphey, turn right onto coast road back to Tenby (approx. 27.5 miles). Sweepers - Tracey Thomas and Dave Poole.

Note that rides will be starting at 6.30 pm from Tenby Leisure Centre car park.

Helmets to be worn on all club rides. We ride in three groups, with the aim that no-one gets left behind.
