Llangwm 20 - Pembroke Dock Quins 8: The Quins went to Pill Parks on Saturday with high hopes of a positive result even though with circumstances that were beyond their control, had left them without a fixture since the first week in February.

It was the Wasps who were out of the blocks first, when Scrum Half Luke Hayman struck with just three minutes on the clock with a 35 yard penalty.

10 minutes later he had a chance to double his sides lead but pulled his attempt just wide of the uprights.

He made amends though just a few minutes later when he doubled his side lead with another well struck penalty.

Their was no question the Wasps had the best part of the opening 20 minutes, but the Quins were slowly shaking off their cobwebs, and it was no surprise when the Quins got on score board when full-Back Rhys Bradney slotted over a awkward penalty to halve the arrears.

The Quins for the rest of the half were on the front foot with captain Hywel Baker leading admirably, and young second row Ben Gibby who is improving all the time disrupting the Wasps lineout at every oppourtunity.

The Quins laid siege to Wasps try line and when Prop Joe Gray turned the ball over for the Quins a chance was on which they took when Bradney dived over in the bottom corner to put his side in front.

He missed the difficult conversion, and as the half drew to a close the Wasps had the chance to take the lead but fortunately for the Quins Luke Hayman pulled his attempt wide.

The Quins must have felt confident as the second half started, but it was the Wasps who were putting on the pressure.

The away side’s defence had been superb from the start, but in Josh Hicks Llangwm had the man for the occasion when the powerful No 8 forced his way over for a try close to the oprights,

Hayman slotted over the simple conversion to put the hosts 13-8 up.

The Quins though were by no means out of it, but the turning point came when they opted for a line out from a penalty which came to nothing, and the next minute the Wasps were threatening the Quins line.

10 minutes from time centre Ben Goodridge burrowed his way over again close to the posts with Hayman converting to end the scoring.
