The 6 Nations matches on Saturday meant there were no senior men’s or Youth fixtures. The Panthers entertained Tumble on Sunday afternoon in very wet, muddy conditions.

Both sides showed their intent from the start and this became a real battle, with both making inroads through some very good handling. Tumble however were more clinical and scored more tries, whilst the home side’s pack performed really well yet again but they could not penetrate a determined Tumble defence. Eventually Tumble’s persistence paid off and they came out winners by 8-27.

A number of the Junior age groups played, but others had matches called off due to the weather making pitches unplayable. The U11s had a very good win away in Fishguard, the U12s also forged an excellent away win in Haverfordwest, whilst the U8s won fifty percent of their matches in their festival day. In weeks ahead some of the age groups will be contesting for places at this year’s County Finals Day, we wish them success. Four Pembroke RFC U11s played for the County team last week and thoroughly enjoyed their experience winning against Aberavon District.

Upcoming fixtures include, the First XV are due to play Crymych at home on March 25, the Youth are away to Aberystwyth same day, whilst the Panthers are due to travel to Porthcawl next day.

Congratulations to winners in February monthly 150 Club draw, £100 Geraint Lewis, £75 Wendy James, £50 Ross Davies. There are still places available anyone interested should see Mary James for mandate forms.

The final Winter Quiz Night will take place on Friday March 24, starting at 7.15pm for teams of 4-6. A number of other social events are planned members are guided to look at the events board at the clubhouse.
