Gowerton 32 -Tenby United 0: With Gowerton sitting in second place in the League One West table and Tenby languishing at the bottom, this result probably came as no surprise to anyone.

Indeed, the United are still looking for their first victory of the season, having lost all of their 12 matches so far.

But, despite this, they still showed plenty of character in this clash and certainly didn’t give up without a fight, even though they were without their captain Luke Dedman, away on holiday.

On this occasion, flanker Roy Osborn was in charge. He led by example with a committed display and got the best out of his young troops, but in the end their sterling efforts were just not enough against a powerful outfit, who were intent on keeping their promotion challenge very much on track.

Their points came from tries by Gwyn Davies, Steve Charles, Bleddyn James and Jonny Rees, along with a penalty try, while fly-half Josh Hamer added the remainder with a conversion of one of tries and a penalty.

With just five points from their campaign so far, the United will be hoping they can start to turn things around tomorrow (Saturday) when they entertain Llanelli Wanderers, who are just two places above them.
