Tenby & District Pool League recently held their annual finals and presentation night at the Greenbridge Inn. This was the delayed finals for season 2019/2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic

First final on the night was the doubles between Rob Day/Tony Thomas & Mark Nally/Marc Thomas both from Saundersfoot Sports & Social Club B. Mark/Marc won the first 2 frames but then a break & clearance from Tony cut the deficit to 2-1. Mark/Marc won the next frame to go 3-1 up. Tony/Rob fought back winning the next 2 frames to make it 3-3 taking it to a deciding frame. Mark/Marc took this frame to win 4-3.

Landlords final saw Damian Brown (Swanlake) play Rob Davies (Greenbridge). The match was keenly contested with a few frames coming down to the black. Rob coming out on top winning 3-1.

The final of the captain’s cup was played between Tony Thomas (SSSC B) and Mark Davies (Swanlake B). Tony winning this 4-0. The score line not truly reflecting the close nature of some of the frames.

The final of the team knockout took place between SSSC B and Swanlake A. This match promised to be a close affair as the sides had finished first and second in the league respectively and did not disappoint. After the six singles had been played SSSC B held a 4-2 lead. The Swan then fought back winning the first 2 doubles to take the match to 4-4 and a deciding frame. SSSC B won a hard-fought final frame, to win 5-4

Last game of the night to take place was the singles final between Tom James & Gareth Aries both of SSSC B. Gareth played some excellent pool in this match, limiting Tom to very few chances. Gareth winning the final 4-0

Player of the season presentation: This was won by Gareth Aries of SSSC B, winning an impressive 25 out of 26 games played.
