Saundersfoot Sports Club (sponsored by LG Leisure Ltd) played away to the Balfour Club on Monday evening and were 5-0 losers.

First frame saw Martin Durham play Teddy McBride. Martin started slowly against a very good player. Martin kept battling away, but Terry was clearly on form to take it with one red left.

Second frame saw captain Glyn Davies play Simon Pearce. Glyn was never in this frame, as Simon compiled break of 30 and 43.

Third frame saw Dave Wooles play Anthony Griffiths. Dave started well, opening up a good early lead. This was a close affair, but it was Dave who was edging it mid-frame and, as the frame went to the colours, he was 23 points up. A few fouls later, however, this was reduced to 10, with brown, blue, pink and black left. His opponent then took the brown, blue and pink to leave a black ball game, which Dave didn’t get.

Fourth frame saw Darren Morgan play Alan Griffiths. Darren started slowly, but then got going. Mid-frame he was level, but definitely playing the better. However, a couple of silly fouls put him on the back foot again and by the colours he was 12 points down. He battled on, but to no avail.

Final frame saw Dean Ludlow play Ray Hoare. Dean started well, potting some excellent balls, and by mid-frame he was 30 points to the good. This was reduced to 11 by the colours, but it was still anyone’s frame. Ray then cleared to the pink to win.
