Saundersfoot Sports Club (sponsored by LG Leisure Ltd) played away to the British Legion in Milford haven in the first leg of their semi-final of the plate cup on Monday evening and were 79 points overall winners (five singles aggregate scores).

The first frame saw captain Glyn Davies, play J. Davies. Glyn was in fine form winning by 65 points.

Darren Morgan played R. Jones in the second frame, with Darren starting slowly but soon picking up momentum, potting some good balls. He continued to pot well eventually winning by 16 points.

The third frame saw Martin Durham play M. McCarthy, with Martin struggling with a bad shoulder. He was up against probably their best player and battled hard to be only nine points down by the colours.

With green, brown, blu, pink and black left, Martin then superbly cleared the colours with a 25 break to win by 16 points.

The fourth frame saw the welcome return of Dickie Parcell, who started off well by opening up with a 14 break, and despite his opponent rallying, Dickie held out to win by 23 points (welcome back Dickie!)

The final frame saw Dean Ludlow play S. Malloy. Dean was up against a good player who was clearly on form and battled away, but eventually succumbed to a defeat by 41 points.

The second leg will be played at home on Monday.
